Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. - Eta Lambda Chapter is pleased to announce our 2nd annual Alpha Merit Badge University on October 5th, 2024, at Morehouse College. The event will provide Atlanta area scouts with the unique opportunity for advancement in their pursuit of excellence in scouting. The goal is to inspire, empower, and cultivate the next generation of future leaders by increasing the number of Eagle Scouts through merit badges that emphasize leadership, scholarship, and service in underserved areas.

Last year, we had 150 scouts attend our inaugural event with 94% of scouts indicating they were satisfied or very satisfied and will attend another Alpha Merit Badge University. Over 115 scouts completed at least 1 merit badge that day.   This year we expect to serve 300 scouts with 28 merit badges. Feedback from scouts, troop leaders, parents, and merit badge counselors were overwhelmingly positive, with comments such as:

  • The event was amazing."
  • Excellent Merit Badge clinic.
  • Togetherness and organization.
  • The students were engaging and prepared to learn.
  • Good job. It was great being on a college campus with professional Black men.
  • The overall event was phenomenal. The concept and execution of the event was superb.
  • I liked how personal the merit badge counselors made the experience and how fun they made the merit badges

We welcome you and your troop to register to assist in your journal towards Eagle Scout rank.
