National Camp Accreditation Program
The purpose of the Boy Scouts of America’s National Camp Accreditation Program (NCAP) is to help elevate camps to new levels of excellence in delivering Scouting’s promise to youth. Councils will engage in a rigorous review of camps and properties, continuous improvement, and correction or elimination of substandard practices.

Short Term Camp
Beginning January 1, 2021 each short-term camp requires a Short Term Camp Administrator certified by National Camp School. A short-term camp is any council and district-organized overnight camping program, whether one-time or regular event, that is one to three nights in length where the council or district provide the staffing and may provide program and food services, and includes camps conducted off council properties.
Each short-term camp must have a short-term camp administrator. This person is responsible for ensuring that the planned camp complies with the NCAP Short-term Camp Standards.
To hold a short-term camp, please have your NCAP Short Term Camp Administrator submit the NCAP Local Council Authorization and Assessment Declaration to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you are using a property that is not Allatoona Aquatics Base, Bert Adams Scout Camp, or Woodruff Scout Camp, please also submit the Site Appraisal Form. Please note, if you are from another council, please submit it to your Council's designated contact.
After your program is authorized, your NCAP Short Term Camp Administrator will receive additional information to assist in successfully completion of the NCAP standards.
