First Aid Trainings

CPR Saturday

The Atlanta Area Council is a proud partner with the American Red Cross to provide CPR and basic first aid certifications to the Scouting community and the general public. CPR Saturday happens twice every year at the Boy Scouts Volunteer Service Center, in early May and in early December. We offer three certification levels and classes are open to anyone who is interested in participating.  The three certification levels are:

  • Adult CPR & AED - A 4-hour course detailing basic CPR & AED concepts.  The course starts at 8:30am and concludes at approximately 12:00pm.  Please arrive by 8:15 am to check in.  Please see note below about what to bring with you. No minimum age.
  • Standard First Aid & CPR -  A 6-hour course including basic first aid principles and Adult, Child and Infant CPR & AED certification.  The course starts at 8:00 am and concludes at approximately 1:45 pm.  Please arrive by 7:45 am to check in.  Please see note below about what to bring with you. No minimum age.
  • CPR for the Professional Rescuer - An intense 8-hour course for lifeguards, emergency medical personnel, and other professional lifesavers. The course starts at 8:00 am and concludes at approximately 5:00 pm.  Please arrive by 7:45 am to check in.  Please see note below about what to bring with you. The minimum age to take this course is 15.

What to bring to class:  Please bring your own pen/pencil.  These courses are fast paced with few, short breaks. You will want to bring easy-to-eat snacks and a refillable water bottle. Please note, lunch and snacks will NOT be provided, and food is NOT available for purchase on-site; you will not have time to leave the venue to purchase food elsewhere. Come prepared.

About the certification:   When registering, please ensure that each person registered to attend has their own email address listed on the registration system.  The email address is the unique identifier in the American Red Cross database.   All persons recertifying with the American Red Cross should ensure the participant email address listed on the registration is the exact same email used for prior certifications through the American Red Cross.  Certificates will be issued by the American Red Cross and will come from the email address classes-notify@usa.redcross.org  Participants may expect to receive the email with the certificate about ten business days after the course (check your spam folder).
