Cub Scouts Advancement Starting at Home
The Cub Scout advancement plan provides fun for the Scouts, gives them a sense of personal achievement as they earn badges, and strengthens family understanding as adult family members and their den leader work with them on advancement projects. To help adult family members and den leaders deliver the “Adventures” found in each Cub Scout Handbook, there are a variety of resources including Den Leader Guides with activity plans for each Adventure. To make these Adventure plans more accessible to leaders and parents and other adult family members, all of the Adventure plans and resources are available at the Scouting on Demand site maintained by the Advancement Committee. There are pages for each of Bobcat, Lion, Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos and Arrow of Light. Scouting On Demand features instructional videos, virtual programming, subscription box content mailed to homes, and much more. All programs and materials are easily accessible to parents and are designed to empower families to Scout together, learn new skills and have fun while building lasting memories.
The Program Planning Guide
Prior to the event, you will have access to the 2021-2022 Program Planning Guide which will help you plan sessions on key elements for a strong and safe unit program. It is your manual to achieving the Ideal Year of Scouting. It includes informative articles about the structure of Scouting and how to best serve your unit as well as a calendar of all the Scouting events happening throughout the Atlanta Area Council for the next 18 months.
