2020 Summer Outdoor Adventures

Camp isn’t a place, it’s a feeling

The Atlanta Area Council is very excited to announce we are offering numerous programs and opportunities for our Scouts!


NEW for Summer 2020! Scout Units and families can camp at Woodruff Scout Camp and Bert Adams Scout Camp beginning June 26!

Hike the mountains of Woodruff Scout Camp, whitewater raft the Nantahala or Ocoee River with Whitewater Express, or bike the forest trails of Bert Adams Scout Camp.

Go fishing, play games, cookout, make s’mores, stargaze and more at our beautiful camps!

The First-Year Camper Program is designed for those Scouts who have either just crossed over from Webelos or have limited camping experience. Basic Scout skills for the inexperienced Scout form the basis of the program. During these adventures, Scouts are instructed in basic Scouting skills including knife, ax and saw, knots and pioneering, orienteering, nature, first aid, citizenship and more.

Skills offered focus on Tenderfoot through First Class advancement requirements.

Additional classes will be added as additional instructors volunteer.

Online Merit Badge University was created to help Scouts continue to earn Merit Badges while at home. We have experienced professional counselors who have agreed to help all Scouts receive an unparalleled experience.

We are offering these classes at a small charge of $5!

Each class will be hosted by an instructor and a moderator to follow the Youth Protection Guidelines.

We have planned a few events for Scouts BSA. Sign up is required to ensure we maintain numbers for proper social distancing. For all events, Scouts should wear a Class B if available to show their Scouting spirit, bring their own water bottle and snack if needed, personal first aid kit, and a mask and will be used when necessary. We look forward to seeing you back in the outdoors

Whitewater Express

Whitewater Express has served the Atlanta Area Council by providing whitewater rafting since the ’80s and wants to provide activities for your Troop this summer as well. Whitewater Express is open and following all appropriate protocols on all activities and in transportation. We are also offering Horseback Merit Badge free of charge to all doing a horseback trip. Pricing below is offered to all Scouts, Leaders, family, and friends of the Atlanta Area Council.  We hope to see you soon at one of our locations!
