Gilwell Society Shoulder PatchVision:

Promote and advance Wood Badge within the Atlanta Area Council

Provide meaningful and practical avenues for continued service to Scouting at the local level, encourage and support completion of Wood Badge tickets and related contributions that benefit our youth and strengthen the bonds of friendship and fellowship among all Scouters.

Guiding Principles:

Youth focused – The Gilwell Society’s (GS) efforts, response, and decisions will always be weighed against what is best for the youth we serve.

Lead with strength – The GS Committee will reach out to the most knowledgeable people and volunteers to create the best possible resource base for the promotion of the Wood Badge programs.

Best practices – The GS is always open to effective methods and practices from other councils and similar organizations.

Membership is open to all individuals who have completed the Wood Badge training course anywhere in the world and are registered members of the Boy Scouts of America. Membership is open to any individual upon completion of the formal class room training.

There are two types of general membership:
Annual: $25.00 / year payable in full by January 1st, each calendar year
Lifetime: one time contribution of $250.00
