Peach of an Athlete Role Model Banquet

March 24, 2015 at the Cobb Energy Centre

The 30th Annual Peach of an Athlete (POA) Role Model Banquet was held March 25, 2014 at the Cobb Energy Centre. Hosted by WXIA-TV's Fred Kalil and Sam Crenshaw, the Peach of an Athlete Role Model Banquet is held to honor athletes and community leaders that hold the same values as Scouting and to benefit the programs of Atlanta Area Council, Boy Scouts of America.

The Bobby Jones Award is one of the most prestegious awards that is given by the Atlanta Area Council.  This award is in honor of Bobby Jones. He won the Grand Slam in 1930 at the age of 28 and became an authentic American "tickertape" hero. He is remembered for an outstanding character, in victory and in adversity. Each year the Atlanta Area Council, Boy Scouts of America presents the Bobby Jones Award to a person whose life and career exemplify those same enduring values. Past recipients include Andrew Young, Dan Reeves, Sam Nunn, Ted Turner, Billy Payne, and Hank Aaron.
