Venturing

Venturing is a program for young men and young women ages 14 through 20. The purpose of Venturing is to provide experiences to help young people mature and become responsible and caring adults. Young people in Venturing learn leadership skills and participate in challenging outdoor activities that help develop self-confidence.

In the Atlanta Area Council, Venturers may look forward to Venturing Camping opportunities and other District Activities. Venturing focuses resources that help a community organization provide wholesome, flexible, well-rounded, challenging activities, tailor-made for teenage youth.

Be a Leader!

All Venturers and Sea Scouts are encouraged to join the Venturing Officers Association (VOA)! By joining the VOA you can: Have Fun!, Develop Council level activities, make new friends, improve your leadership skills, and enjoy the adventure of VenturingNomination Forms must be submitted by June 15th.  Be the face of Venturing in Atlanta.

Sea Scouts

Sea Scouting is an exciting program with plenty of opportunities based upon a rich tradition. The sea offers a challenge to all who venture upon it. If you are looking for challenges, you will find them here, along with the opportunity to estabilish long-lasting friendships. Sea Scouting is a co-educational program offered to young adults between the ages of 14-21. These Scouts have the opportunity to learn boat handling under power and sail, piloting and rues-of-the-road, navigation and how to read the weather. Click here to get more information on the Atlanta Area Sea Scout Squadron.
