Attraction Treks at Bert Adams

In 2013 Bert Adams will continue its popular Attraction Treks program as part of its Boy Scout resident camp programs.  Some of these programs include an additional cost.  All participants receive a patch.

During the afternoon and/or evening of your choice travel 38 miles to Stone Mountain Park for a unique Georgia experience.  Stone Mountain is a 1,686 foot tall monadnock located in Atlanta's eastern suburbs.  Stone Mountain is famous for its geologic significance and also for the largest bas relief sculpture in the world (90 x 190 ft.) of three Confederate leaders.  Your troop can spend your visit hiking, learning about Georgia history, visiting attractions, and say for the famous LaserShow Spectacular in MountainVision (world's longest-running laser show--27 years).  Ask our dining hall to pack a sack meal for you, or enjoy one of Stone Mountain's restaurants.

On Thursday evening travel 38 miles to the Atlanta Motor Speedway for a night of Bandolero, Legends, and Thunder Roadster racing.  It's an evening of fun and grassroots racing on a paved quarter-mile track at Atlana Motor Speedway: the Thunder Ring.  Drivers as young as 8-years old come from all over the nation to battle for the right to be called champions.

Travel 30 minutes to one of our camp partners, for an afternoon of horse education and riding.  Scouts will receive an orientation on horses, their care, and riding basics from a trained horse handling staff member.  Next, everyone will saddle-up and take a trail ride on one of their beautiful and experience-appropriate trails.
